Tamarind a small gooseberry sized Water 4 cups Black pepper powder 1/4 tsp Cardamom powder 1/4 tsp Black salt | kala namak 1/4 tsp Powdered sugar* 1/4 cup Ice cubes few (optional) Mint leaves few *I used powdered raw sugar Video of imli ka amlana

Method:

  • Soak the tamarind in 1/2 cup hot water for 30 minutes.
  • After 30 mins, grind this into a fine paste.
  • Strain this mixture and add 3 and 1/2 cups of water.
  • Add the black pepper powder, black salt, powdered sugar and cardamom powder to this.
  • Mix well.
  • Finally add the chopped mint leaves to this.
  • Serve chilled.
Amlana - 1

Method:

Imli ka amlana - 6
  1. Do not use store bought tamarind paste, it usually has oil in it.
  2. You can add 1/4 tsp of cumin powder too.
  3. Instead of sugar you can add powdered jaggery too.
