Green peas kheer recipe

Preparation Time : 15 mins | Cooking Time : 25 Mins | Serves: 4

Green peas 1/2 cup Almonds | Badam 15 Milk 4 cups Milk masala 2 pinches Sugar 1/3 cup Ghee 2 tsp Method:

  • Blanch the almonds and take out the skin.
  • Put the peas in hot water for 5 minutes and drain the water completely.
  • If using fresh peas, pressure cook for 1-2 whistles. I used frozen peas.
  • Grind the almonds and peas into a fine paste. Do not add water. If needed just sprinkle 1 tsp of water.
  • In a pan add ghee and add the ground peas almond paste.
  • Saute it for 5 minutes in a low flame.
  • Add the milk to this now.
  • Let this boil in a medium flame for 20 to 25 minutes till the milk thickens slightly and comes to a kheer consistency. · Switch off the flame. · Add the sugar and mix well. · Add milk masala to this . · Serve chilled.

  • You can add few chopped almonds .
  • Serve chilled.

  1. Cashew nuts or pistachios can be used instead of almonds.
  2. Always add sugar after switching off the flame.
  3. Condensed milk can be added to enhance the richness of the green peas kheer.
