Green apple 1 Red chili powder 1 – 1 and 1/2 tsp Roasted methi seed powder | Venthaya podi 2 pinches Mustard seeds 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder 1/4 tsp Asafoetida 2 pinches Sesame oil 1 and 1/2 tblsp Salt as needed

Method:

  • Wash and cut the apple into cubes.
  • Add salt,turmeric powder and red chili powder to this.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, asafoetida and roasted methi seed powder to this.
  • When the mustard splutters add this oil mixture to the green apple.
  • Mix well evenly.
  • If you want you can add few curry leaves into the oil.
  • Green apple pickle is ready. You can serve this with curd rice or sambar rice too.

  1. You can dry roast little mustard seeds and powder it and add 2 pinches to the oil.
  2. Store the pickle in a clean dry bowl.
  3. Always use a dry spoon to take the pickle.
  4. Add red chilli powder according to the sourness of the apple.
