Cabbage 2 cups (finely chopped) Shallots |ulli | Small onion 7-8 Green chili 1-2 Grated coconut 3 tblsp Curry leaves few Ginger 1/2 tsp (grated) Coconut oil 2 tsp Mustard seeds 1/4 tsp Urad dal 1/2 tsp Salt as needed Method:

  • Chop the cabbage, onions and green chili finely.
  • In a wide bowl add the cabbage, chili, coconut,onions, grated ginger, turmeric powder, curry leaves and salt.
  • Mix well.
  • Leave this for 10 minutes.
  • In a pan add coconut oil and add the mustard seeds and urad dal. When the dal turns golden brown add the cabbage mix.
  • Cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • If there is any water in the curry, cook till it evaporates.
  • Cabbage thoran is ready.
  • Serve with rasam or sambar.
